Organized in 1997, Nibroll is a dance company headed by choreographer Mikuni Yanaihara, who produces works for the stage together with video artist Keisuke Takahashi, musician SKANK, and other members hailing from a variety of fields. Besides theaters, its works are performed in museums and outdoors, and also it creates and shows video works. In all of its output, it pushes the limits of corporeal expression. It took the Mori Art Museum Contemporary Award Travel Prize in 2004, and won the Japan Dance Forum Award Grand Prix for “Romeo OR Juliet” in 2009. While based in Tokyo and Yokohama, it is widening the circle its activities and performing in Europe, North America, and Asia outside Japan.
