Nibroll is a multi-media art collective formed in 1997 by Ms. Yanaihara Mikuni.
Nibroll has no general directors but has directors in various fields such as: visuals images, music and fine arts. It is a characteristic of their performance that it is not confirmed to dance, but it is a concert, a play, cinema, or an art exhibition. They entrust that decision to each audience.
The multi-media art collective Nibroll was formed in 1997 by Ms.Yanaihara Mikuni. Nibroll has no general director, but has artistic directors represented from various fields such as: visuals images, music and fine arts. It is a characteristic of Nibroll’s performance that it is not confined to dance, but it is also a concert, a play, cinema, or art exhibition. Nibroll entrust such classification to their audience.

Nibroll performed "Let's Go to Hayashi's House" as part of the city theatre series at Avignon's OFF Festival (France) in July 1999. In 2003 they debuted their second feature, "The Tokyo Civil Swimming Pool No.1" while later that year they also premiered "No Parking".
2001 saw Nibroll's first US tour with invitations to the Oregon Dance Festival and San Francisco's BUTO Festival. They also performed at the Yokohama Dance Collection competition -Bagnolet International Choreography Contest- and received The National Advisory Panel Award.
"Coffee" toured internationally in 2002 (Berlin, Paris, NYC, India and Bangkok among other countries), and a series of new works, "Note", "Note Side B" and "Notes"was developed up until 2003. "Note" premiered internationally in 2004 at the invitation of the Laokoon Summer Festival (Hamburg, Germany).
Another work - "Dry Flower" was performed both in Yokohama's Next Dance Festival and in New York.
More recently, Nibroll have created similar conceptual works for exhibition both in Japan and abroad: a 2005 piece, "No Direction,everyday". This piece has been exhibited at the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography (2005), and at the 2006 Echigo-Tsumari Triennale. This March 2007 showing of "no direction."marks the first time that this work will be publicly performed in three years in Tokyo.
