Multi-media artist Takagi Masakatsu lives and works in Kyoto but has performed and exhibited internationally. Collecting inspiration on his travels, his work is a breathtaking collage of sound, music and video, utilising technology but with an almost classical beauty. Recent solo exhibitions include 'Takagi' at the Byblos Gallery in Verona, Italy, and 'Color of Empty Sky' at Transplant Gallery, New York. He has exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo, and the Whitechapel Art Gallery, London as well as galleries in France, Spain, China, Taipei, Germany, Singapore and the United States. In 2006 he released a book of his video arts collection, 'Bloomy Girls' and was named in the RES 10 _ one of ten emerging artists who will influence the worlds of film, video, design, music and media art in the upcoming year and beyond. A classically trained pianist, Takagi performs live and his musical compositions have been released in the United States and Japan.
