Outline of projects
This project is aimed at the development of next-generation artists and staff who are a step away from the stage of participating in overseas tours and international co-productions. It is supported by the Agency for Cultural Affairs, Government of Japan, through the Japan Arts Council. Taking the question of how internationalism can enrich creation as its starting point, it has staged two programs, one consisting of on-line lectures, and the other, of creative practice.

Outline of the activities
The online lecture program consisted of a series of lectures led by artists, producers, and other people active inside and outside Japan as the lecturers. Through the series, the participants came into contact with international perspectives and knowledge, and learned about linkage with creative activities. A call was made for participants without any restrictions on age and career. The participants consequently included people involved in performing arts (e.g., playwrights, actors, choreographers, dancers, producers, and staff) as well as people who wanted to widen their perspective in creation.
For the creation program, two groups of artists were selected through subscription and auditions. They used the perspectives and ideas they had learned in the online lectures as a foundation and attempted to apply them in their own practice. In their creations, professionals with a wealth of experience of international creation sites guided them as mentors. The results were shown as the BRIDGE SHOWCASE at the Yokohama International Performing Arts Meeting (YPAM), which was attended by people involved in the performing arts in Japan and other countries.
